Almost 6 months now – and our lives will not be the same. I hope that your business and your spirit have survived this significant body blow. The fact that we literally stopped our economy overnight tested the mettle of many families and many enterprises.

Despite all of this. I see signs of the humility, humanity and the honour that we will collectively beed as we pick up the pieces and rebuild/restart.

This is the time to take stock.

1. how is the relationship with your family, spouse, children, relatives? as it relates to the family enterprise?
2. have you taken steps to prepare/protect your enterprise for the potential next wave of COVID?
3. what is the company strategy and have you played out scenarios (good, medium and terrible) to determine how nimble the strategy ought to be, especially with the fast changing developments?
4. have you communicated regularly with your stakeholders (management and staff, customers, suppliers, banks) to keep them close and in contact. You may need to rely upon them in time.

This last point, so important. Especially as we all are WFH (work from home) much of our days, you should not be concerned about overcommunicating.
